Best Heard This Week

And worth a listen in my opinion…..

Ida Nielsen – Sometimes a Girl Needs Some Sugar Too : Alright Funk fans, this lady knows how to get my booty shakin! Solid songwriting, delivery by Ida that is sugar-sweet, and hip-hop bass grooves deliver up a set of tasty tracks that definitely make my list of serious old school funk! Check it out.

Rich Ayala – Sketches In Motion : Originally looking for an inspirational offering, I stumbled upon this lovely work. Basically background music featuring piano and guitar, Rich uses elements of latin, Celtic and classical guitar playing to weave a very rich soundscape. Well recorded, smooth and quite enjoyable. Take a listen.

Dominic Margiotti – The Pearly Gate Parade : You know what I like about this one? It surprised me. Looking for a rock record to review, I found this one, and it is a different type of pop/rock recording than any I have heard in a long while. With Dominic’s debut, he uses elements of pop, rock, and folk to offer you 12 very unique and lush melodies that really make you want to stay tuned. Get your ears on.

As always, your comments on the above are welcome. – Jim
